Yianni’s Cafe
--
Arguably the premier family-owned breakfast spot in Ocean City, Yianni’s Cafe has left an indelible imprint on the community since opening its doors on Asbury Ave in 2008.
Open year-round for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Yianni’s boasts a delicious menu with top-tier Greek and American inspired dishes.
Yianni’s friendly staff (led by owner Yianni himself), extensive kids’ menu and outdoor patio seating make the restaurant a ‘must’ on any summer To-Do List for Ocean City locals and first-time visitors alike. Yianni’s downtown location allows for a convenient meal before or after a day of browsing the local shopping district along Asbury Avenue.
Breakfast (until 2 p.m.)
Select entrees offered only at Yianni’s, such as the Bon Matin and Nutella Bella, are among its must-try breakfast dishes.
Additional breakfast options include a variety of familiar dishes such as Omelets and Benedicts. Notably, the Classy California egg white omelet, served with potatoes and a choice of toast, comes with cheddar cheese and tomato and is topped with sliced avocado and Hollandaise sauce.
Top-tier smoothie offerings such as the Classic California (strawberries & banana) and Tropical Morning (mango, pineapple, banana & yogurt) are the perfect complement to breakfast, lunch or dinner. And — although Yianni’s prides itself on having the best bagels at the shore–you would be remiss not to enjoy your favorite dish (or two or three) from the lunch and dinner menu, too.
Lunch (11 a.m.) and Dinner (4:30 p.m.)
While Yianni’s gives off a pleasant, breezy and relaxed atmosphere perfect for its location on the heart of Asbury Avenue, its cuisine transports you 5,000+ miles to Greece.
Lunch and dinner at Yianni’s ranks very near or at the top of all of Ocean City’s best restaurants. With options ranging from gyros to falafel to homemade veggie burgers, you can’t go wrong with the appetizer(s) or entree(s) you decide on.
Yianni’s salads are served with extra virgin olive oil from the Greek island of Crete, where Yianni grew up and as a kid planted olive seedings on his family farm. The Greek Salad leads the way (also served with falafel and gyro meat) from the salad options, but really, any of the salads are sure to please.
Dinner entrees such as the Blackened Flounder and Lamb Chops are served with a cup of soup du jour or choice of salad. Other local favorites include the Chargrilled Salmon & Shrimp (Dinner Combo #1) and Mini Crab Cakes & Shrimp (Dinner Combo #2).
Overall, Yianni’s staff is equally as inviting as the food — and you’ll already be planning your next visit to Yianni’s as soon as you walk out the door.
Bonus: Yianni’s also has a second location in Brigantine! (1213 W Brigantine Ave)
